This book by Nicole Wilde is an excellent introduction to wolfdogs as pets. It covers informaton about wolfdogs and content and what to watch for when choosing a wolfdog, issues to consider before bringing a wolfdog, practical advice on training, preventing, and addressing common behavioral issues, and diet and health information.
Another pick by Nicole Wilde, this book is primarily about behavior and training of wolfdogs, although some other topics are covered briefly. It is set out in a sort of reference format, with each chapter focussing on a particular topic, arranged alphabetically. It can be a guide to the initial training and ongoing behavior management of a wolfdog, and well as a specific reference for dealing with problems that might crop up along the way.
This book, by Michael T. Fisher, gives us a view of life with a wolf dog as a companion. It is told in a narrative style following the life of Kavika, and is interwoven with the stories of the other canines in the pack. The book starts off with a look at wolves, dogs, and wolf-dog crosses, and proceeds through descriptions of life with Kavika as a puppy, "teen" and adult, and finishes up with a bit on the bond between the author and Kavika.
This book, by Sal Del Gaudio, is quite a bit different from other wolfdog books I have read in that it really focusses on the unique spirit of wolfdogs. There is certainly some coverage of the challenges of living with wolfdogs, but it really is focussed on the poignant story of Lobo and his owners' spriritual journey with him, from the time his human companions rescue him to the end of his life and beyond.
