Not all veterinarians can or will treat exotic pets. Most vets have practices limited to treating dogs and cats or large farm animals. But Illinois is lucky to have quite the list of exotics vets to allow exotic pet owners to find the perfect vet for them and their pets. This list has vets that treat birds, reptiles, pockets pets, and everything in between. Be sure to call your vet of choice to make sure they see your type of exotic pet and to make an appointment before just showing up at the clinic. Just because they say they see exotic pets doesn't mean they see all kinds of exotics.
