The Super Pet Comfort Wheel is a sturdy wheel with a safe solid running surface. It is handy because it can be used free standing, or clipped to the cage. My rats did not use the wheel, so I can't comment personally on the noise factor, but other reviews of this product indicate that it can be quite noisy.

I purchased the large size wheel for my rats, but unfortunately they did not seem to like using it so I eventually removed it from the cage. The large size is great for larger pets like rats and chinchillas, but you need a really large cage for the large wheel, and since my rats didn't use it much I ended up taking the wheel out to open the space for other things. The clip to attach it directly to the cage was too large for the narrowly spaced bars on my homemade cage (I suspect the clip would work better with 3/4 inch bar spacing). Because my rats didn't really take to the wheel (not too unusual for rats), I didn't get a chance to evaluate how noisy this wheel is, but I read in several other reviews that it can be noisy (I did read in one review that placing a hair scrunchy between the wheel and cage reduces the noise significantly). However, while this product did not work out that well for me, it is a sturdy wheel (probably better attached to the cage than free standing) with a very safe, easy to clean solid surface. It is also an inexpensive wheel, so as long as the noise factor isn't a big one for you, this can be a good choice for a wheel.
