The Bottom Line
Super Pet's Build N Bites is billed as the "construction chew toy for critters." As a construction toy is is not all that sturdy - the climbing structures I tried to build didn't stay together that well and toppled as soon as the rats played with or on them. However, as toys go for small pets, this is a nice inexpensive choice and good for chewing.

Guide Review - Super Pet Build N Bites
As a concept, this is a really neat toy. It is a pack of wood pieces that are slotted so you can fit them together in various configurations. I purchased the 6 piece pack, and there was not much variety in what I could build, and a few of the slots didn't fit together tightly, making my structures unstable. However, if you choose the larger pack (10 pieces) or a couple of packages, you could build more of a variety of structures that might have better support and be a bit more sturdy. As well, lighter weight creatures such as hamsters, mice and gerbils probably wouldn't be as tough on them as my big rat boys.
The pices are safe natural wood dyed in various colors with USDA approved coloring, so they seem good and safe for chewing. Be warned though, if they get wet, a lot of the coloring will wash away leaving them mottled with color.
Though I gave up on building things with these after a bit, I have left pieces in the cage and even clipped some to the side of the cage for my rats' chewing pleasure. Even though they didn't work out quite as intended for me, I give them hight marks for versatility and "chewability," and because I think they would be a great choice for mice, hamsters and gerbils.
