Turtles can store sperm in their bodies for years after mating but until recently, we didn't really know which male turtle fathered the babies in a clutch. Thanks to a recent study, since female Hermann's tortoises can be quite promiscuous, they can have sperm from several males all store in their body at one time and lay a clutch that is fathered by two or even three different males years later!
Talk about not knowing who your father is!
