Due to the recent Salmonella outbreaks that have been attributed to aquatic turtles, Petco will now accept any sized aquatic turtle (this includes Red Eared Sliders, Map Turtles, and Yellow Bellied Cooters) at any of their stores (except in Hawaii). Turtles under 4 inches in length will be shipped to the Concordia Turtle Farm.
This is great news for any unwanted pet aquatic turtles, especially those that are technically illegal to own due to their small size. For more information contact your local Petco store.
