Ball Pythons

ball pythonIf you are new to snakes, you might want to consider a ball python. They are gorgeous snakes, but lack the size and power of some of the larger, less manageable constricting snakes. They have a reputation as being fussy eaters, and have been known to go on long hunger strikes. However, this can usually be avoided if you are careful and get a captive bred snake (I always recommend choosing captive bred, anyway) that is used to pre-killed prey (get a feeding demonstration if you want to be sure). More about the characteristics and care of ball pythons can be found in "Ball Pythons as Pets."
