Recently, I was emailed a link to a really neat site -- among other fun things, there is an animated Flash tarantula that you can play with. This quite realistic looking tarantula wanders around a map of Europe, and if you click on the spider you can move it around, either by the body or by tugging on one of its legs (though of course, you could never to this to a live spider!). If you hit the space bar, a bug will be left on the screen and the tarantula will wander over and eat it. If you move your mouse cursor around near the spider, the spider will come investigate. I guess I am easy to amuse, because I spent more time than I care to admit playing with the animated spider - but I found it completely fascinating.
