Chilean Rose Tarantula

Friday December 26, 2008
Touted as the ideal tarantula for beginners, this attractive large spider is readily available, hardy, and pretty easy to care for properly. These tarantulas quite docile are not inherently very venomous (although they can inflict a painful bite, and severe allergic reactions to their venom are possible). However, regular handling of tarantulas isn't recommended since they can be seriously injured if they fall even a small distance. With proper care, a Chilean rose female could live up to 15-20 years!
