In our continuing series on pet names, let's talk about tarantula names (seems fitting with Halloween coming up!). There are quite a few great tarantula names in the tarantula names list I started before, but I'm always interested in how people chose their names. Did you have names picked out before you got your tarantula? Or did you wait to see what your tarantula were like before settling on a name? Please share your tarantulas' names by adding them to the comments section below. Feel free to note how you chose names too! Eventually, I hope to compile all these names to update the master list of Tarantula Names, too.

I have one named Hot Fuzz (instead of hot fudge) and one named Rose-Hairy (instead of Rose-Mary). One is a Costa Rican Zebra, and the other is a rose hair…go figure

I had Rose hair. I named her Fang because one day my mom called pet store for me to see if they have tarantula which they did have, but one lady told my mom first thing that it has fangs and could bite you. My mom was like okay.. So I thought it was funny and named her Fang. :]

I had a mexican red-knee (she died the other day) and I named her Phobia. I wanted a unique and cool name for her and thats what i came up with:)

I have 2 Chilean Rosehairs, Morticia and Gomez, a spiderling Salmon Pink Rosehair named Peanut, a Goliath Birdeater named Zeus, a Greenbottle Blue named Djinn, an Indian Ornamental named Geronimo, am getting him a Pocahontas soon.

I have Goliath the birdeater and A. geniculata(brazilian white knee).Well I the birdeater I named him goliath because I like that name,and a. geniculata-hallow.
