A Dingo Named Lindy
Saturday June 28, 2008
Guest author Nic Papalia shares the story of Lindy, a dingo that is a part of his family. Her photos can also be found in the photo gallery. Pure blooded dingoes are actually becoming a rarity in Australia, largely because they readily breed with domestic dogs so their gene pool has become diluted. As Nic tells us, Dingoes can be good pets, with the right expectations and training.
Do you want to protest the plight of the dingo? Along with dilution of their gene pool dingoes are threatened because many perceive them as pest animals and kill them as a result; in addition, the use of a terrible poison called 1080 is still allowed in Australia to deal with "pest" control.
