Vitamin A Deficiency in Reptiles

Tuesday June 24, 2008
Vitamin A deficiency isn't terribly common, but it is sometimes seen in pet reptiles, especially turtles along with other reptiles such as chameleons. This deficiency is quite easily preventable with a varied and well balanced diet, along with a good vitamin supplement on occasion. The symptoms of vitamin A deficiency include swollen eyes, weakness, loss of appetite among other things; if severe enough a deficiency can leave lasting abnormalities even if treated successfully, or can even be fatal. Find out more about feeding your reptile to avoid this problem in this profile of Vitamin A Deficiency in Reptiles.
