Vitamin A Deficiency in Reptiles

Vitamin A deficiency isn't terribly common, but it is sometimes seen in pet reptiles, especially turtles along with other reptiles such as chameleons. This deficiency is quite easily preventable with a varied and well balanced diet, along with a good vitamin supplement on occasion. The symptoms of vitamin A deficiency include swollen eyes, weakness, loss of appetite among other things; if severe enough a deficiency can leave lasting abnormalities even if treated successfully, or can even be fatal.
