Lucky Baltimore Chinchilla

Saturday September 29, 2007
Chinchillas are not often found roaming the streets, but a lost chinchilla was found roaming the streets of Baltimore the other day. Thanks to some quick thinking by Laureen Miles Brunelli (About.com's Guide to Baltimore) and her family, he was caught and will either be reunited with his owners or placed in a new home. At first they didn't realize he was a chinchilla (as many people wouldn't), but they quickly realized that he was a lost pet of some sort and not a wild rodent. Apparently, Baltimore's animal control department is not all that familiar with chinchillas, but Laureen's daughter came up with the identification, and Wildlife Rescue, Inc. came to the rescue. You can read about the adventure here: Lonely Rodent on the Mean Streets of Baltimore.
