Conjoined Turtle Twins

Saturday September 29, 2007
A pet store in Norristown, Pa. bought rare two month old baby turtle conjoined twins from a collector with plans to keep it permanently on display in the store. They have no plans to sell the red eared slider(s) -- and they'll need some special care as their shape makes it awkward for them to move well. The turtles share a shell (though oddly shaped); there are two head and four front legs, but only two hind legs and a single tail. Their head face almost complete opposite directions, which is why movement is a bit of a problem. They are very cute though, and I hope the pet store takes good care of them. The MSNBC news story is accompanied by a video that gives a great view of the conjoined twins.
