Sand and Concrete Perches for Birds

It was interesting to read this article on Sand and Concrete Perches for birds by Alyson Burgess (About.com's Guide to Pet Birds). This is another example of products that cause confusion for owners. After all, products that are widely sold for pets must be good, or at the very least not harmful. If only that were true! While people are shaken by the recent, awful pet food recall, there are lots of products in pet stores that are not ideal for our pets, and even potentially hazardous. As Alyson points out, these abrasive perches can cause more problems than they prevent.
