Tiger Tranquilized and Removed from Apartment

Monday October 6, 2003
Right on the heels of the tiger attack on Roy Horn comes another tiger tale: a 400 pound tiger was rescued from a New York apartment after the owner went to the hospital for bite wounds on his arm and leg, which he apparently claimed were from a pit bull attack. The tiger will go to a sanctuary in Ohio. The details of the tiger's history vary widely among news reports, but according to news reports the owner, who fled to Philadelphia, will face charges of reckless endangerment once out of hospital. An 3 foot caiman (same family as alligators and crocodiles) was also found in the apartment.
